The Saints have opened as a 8.5 point favorite for their game this Sunday vs. Carolina. Matt talks the importance of this game for the NFC South division race.

Orthopaedic surgeon and hip specialist Dr. Kevin Riche joins Matt to talk the injury to Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. Dr. Riche explains how the injury took place on the play.

“His hip is flexed at 90 degrees and his knee is bent at 90 degrees,” Dr. Riche said. “When someone falls on his back it pushes on his femur up and breaks the posterior wall.”

The surgery today was successful and Tua is said to make a complete recovery. Dr. Riche says it’s not that simple.

“Yes and no. The surgery today would’ve been to clean out any pieces that may be in the joint and repair the wall,” Dr. Riche said. “In that respect he can have a great recovery. What we don’t know is how the cartilage in the joint will do?”

Musso catches you up on the former Tigers in the pros, including Derrius Guice’s first NFL touchdown.

Michael Divinity returned today to LSU practice. Matt speculates on what this could mean for the senior linebacker.
